FEM CHAP CON: Marina Blitshteyn + Elizabeth Clark Wessel with Emily Brandt, Krystal Languell and Eva Maria Saavedra

A chapbook celebration for the release of Nothing Personal (Bone Bouquet Books) by Marina Blitshteyn and Isn't That You Waving at You (Big Lucks Books) and Amsterdam (Dancing Girl Press) by Elizabeth Clark Wessel.

With readings by Emily Brandt, Krystal Languell, and Eva Maria Saavedra.


Marina Blitshteyn is the author of 4 chapbooks: Russian for Lovers (Argos Books), Nothing Personal (Bone Bouquet Books), $kill$ (dancing girl press), and Kaddish (Argos Books). She has worked as an adjunct instructor of composition and literature but s now looking for alternative means of employment.

 Elizabeth Clark Wessel is a founding editor of Argos Books & co-editor of Circumference: Poetry in Translation. She is the author of three chapbooks Whither Weather (GreenTower Press, 2012), Isn't that You Waving at You (Big Lucks Books, 2015) and Amsterdam (Dancing Girl Press, 2015). Her full-length collection Two Suns is forthcoming from The Lit Pub. She lives in a farmhouse in Connecticut and translates Swedish novels for a living.

 Emily Brandt is the author of three chapbooks: Sleeptalk or Not At All (Horse Less Press), ManWorld (dancing girl press) and Behind Teeth (Full Court Books). She earned her MFA from New York University where she facilitated the Veterans Writing Workshop. Emily is a Co-founding Editor of No, Dear magazine, Web Acquisitions Editor for VIDA, and a regular contributor at Weird Sister.

 Eva Maria Saavedra was born and raised in New Jersey and now resides in Brooklyn, NY. She received a BA from SUNY Purchase and an MFA in writing and translation from Columbia's School of the Arts. Her chapbook, Thirst, was selected by Marilyn Hacker for the Poetry Society of America's 2014 New York Chapbook Fellowship. Her poetry has appeared in CallalooCatch-UpThe Acentos ReviewGenerationsPrick of the Spindle, and Apogee Journal.

Krystal Languell was born in South Bend, Indiana. She is the author of the books Call the Catastrophists (BlazeVox, 2011) and Gray Market (Coconut, 2015) and the chapbooks Last Song (dancing girl press, 2014), and Be a Dead Girl (Argos Books, 2014). In early 2014, Fashion Blast Quarter was published as a poetry pamphlet by Flying Object. Forthcoming work includes a collaboration with Robert Alan Wendeborn, Diamonds in the Flesh (Double Cross Press), and a collection of interviews, Archive Theft (Essay Press). She is a 2014-2015 Lower Manhattan Cultural Council workspace resident.
